Event Details

Update: this event is at capacity.

3D printing has evolved significantly over the last 10 years. By combining new materials and techniques it has changed the way many industries now operate, including manufacturing; aviation and defence; and healthcare.
However, 3D printing is not just revolutionising the technique of how we make and get a product – it’s creating brand new products, with entirely new properties, that were previously just not possible.

Join the University of Newcastle’s School of Design Communication and IT for a presentation from Objective 3D, one of Australia’s largest suppliers of 3D printers.

Content covered will include:

  • 3D printing and its role in industry and innovation
  • An overview of 3D printing technologies
  • Current and future uses in architecture, design, aviation, defence, health and heavy industry
  • 3D printing in education
