Night OWLS Design Competition
Night OWLS (Original Welcoming Lighting Solutions) is a competition for young people aged 15 to 29, to design creative lighting installations in selected areas of Newcastle City Centre.
The competition aims to foster creativity and engage young people in delivery of community safety outcomes.
Entrants have a choice of two competition criteria:
- A realistic lighting activation that has the potential to be installed. These designs must follow the criteria set out in the design brief.
- A lighting installation that has no boundaries – a dream project, where imagination is the only barrier.
Selected designs will be on exhibition at the Newcastle Museum from 23 September to 3 November. Winners will be announced on Friday, 10 October.
Night OWLS is an initiative of The City of Newcastle and Newcastle Youth Council.
