Newy's Uke Master, Mark Jackson

Newy’s uke master, Mark Jackson

Mark Jackson has been many things – including, but not only, a PhD student, childcare worker, geographer, university lecturer, mental health worker and public transport activist.

In 2009, Mark created a new job for himself – community musician – that combined both his work experience and passions into a single occupation.

In this talk from TEDxNewy in 2011, Mark discusses the success he’s had helping people build a sense of community through playing music, specifically with the ‘Ukastle Ukestra’.

The Ukastle Ukestra also performed as part of TEDxNewy and you can see their uplifting performance here.
