Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival 2014

The Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival ‘EVFest’ is bringing two days of electric vehicle action to Cameron Park Raceway on 16 and 17 August.

EVFest is delivered by a range of supportive Hunter organisations and businesses, led by the University of Newcastle’s Tom Farrell Institute for the Environment.

EVFest 2014 is all about thinking of sustainable transport in fun and innovative ways that support the development of electric vehicle industries in the region. The festival includes the EV Show – getting the public up close and personal with the full range of electric vehicles from bicycles and mobility aids, through to motorcycles, cars and even trains. As a highlight, the Show currently has three electric super cars and electric super bikes attending the festival.

The EV Prize competition race day is on Sunday 17 August. Local schools and privateers build electric vehicles and race against the clock and each other around a tight and twisty race circuit.

The Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival is an Inspiring Australia initiative, supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week.

The Tom Farrell Institute is seeking volunteers to help out at the EV Show and EV Prize Day. For more information contact Belinda McNab on 02 4921 5700 or email belinda.mcnab@newcastle.edu.au
