Established in 2011, the Centre for Hope works with Australian youth who are suffering adversity, and who are considered to be in need of intervention to improve their educational and life outcomes.
Through a coaching and mentoring program, consisting of both individual and group sessions, young people become empowered to find their true direction in life, working around emotions and how to deal with them, brain gym and self-esteem building exercises.
Focus areas include self-esteem, emotional intelligence and goal-setting, while mentors provide strong roles models for the students as well as support, including linking them with programs in the community such as surf lifesaving, sport clubs etc. as well as encouraging their participation in vocational activities.
