Everything you need to know about Hunter Young Professionals

Hunter Young Professionals (HYP) provides opportunities for young people to network in a business environment, gain new management and leadership skills, interact socially together and support the local community so that they can develop as the business leaders of tomorrow.

Formerly known as the Newcastle & Hunter Junior Chamber, HYP has grown and expanded over the past years, encompassing diverse membership backgrounds and covering the wider Hunter region. HYP runs events in a variety of formats throughout the year – from casual drinks and trivia nights, to breakfast forums and debates. These events can be focussed on professional development with guest speakers sharing their knowledge on a range of topics, or just for fun where meeting and talking to new people is the main aim.

HYP supports local charities and is associated with Ronald McDonald House and recently formed a partnership with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

Getting Involved with Hunter Young Professionals

HYP’s mentoring program facilitates relationships between the experienced business leaders of today and the motivated and visionary minds of tomorrow. Using HYP as an introductory point, participants are matched wherever possible based on personal interests, goals, career motives and objective as well as industry and experience. Mentors and mentees then have the flexibility to set the framework of the relationship themselves, including frequency of meetings, goals and expectations.
