Echology Performs at UN
The University of Newcastle’s acclaimed chamber choir, Echology, is currently representing Australia at The Rhythms of One World International Choral Festival in Switzerland this week.
Organisers of the festival selected the eight participating choirs, giving Echology the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the United Nations in Geneva.
Celebrating the anniversary of the signing of the original UN Charter “We the Peoples”, this large-scale event brings together hundreds of voices in the name of peace.
Echology’s fifteen singers and conductor Philip Matthias are joining with their international counterparts from Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, Canada, France, South Africa, Romania and the United Nations Choir to perform in concerts, and participate in workshops throughout the week.
