Canberra Alumni Reception

Canberra Alumni Reception

More than 100 people gathered at Parliament House on Tuesday 4 June for the Canberra Alumni Chapter’s annual cocktail party.

The function was an opportunity for alumni, senior University staff and members of Parliament to network and reconnect and we were thrilled that a large number of recent graduates could join us.

Political alumni including Senator Arthur Sinodinis; the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Joel Fitzgibbon; and the Federal Member for Shortland Jill Hall joined the Federal Member for Newcastle Sharon Grierson and the UoN’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Caroline McMillen.

The cocktail party is just one of the social events coordinated by the Canberra Alumni Chapter Committee. The Committee aims to link alumni with each other and relevant industry professionals, help new graduates arriving in Canberra and support services that benefit the local community.

There are lots of ways to get involved so if you would like to help or attend the next event, please contact the Committee through the Alumni Relations Office at

Check out some photos from the cocktail party on our Facebook page.
