2014 Real Film Festival Short Film Competitions

The Real Film Festival returns to Newcastle in November. An initiative of Screen Hunter, this three day festival is designed to foster and showcase the art of storytelling real events through film.

The festival will comprise of industry development workshops, short film competitions and a collection of short, independent and documentary films.

The short film competition is an integral part of the festival, with categories open for primary (5 – 12 years) and secondary (13 – 18 years) school students as well as an open category for entrants over 19 years.

Students, schools, emerging and established filmmakers are encouraged to enter the competition where there are many prizes to be won. The winners of each category will be announced and screened on the closing night of the festival.

Film duration must be no longer than 12 minutes (including titles and credits). Entries close Friday, 26 September. An entry fee of $35 or $25 for students applies to each entry.
